Celebrating International Women’s Day International Women’s Day, marked each year on 8 March, is a chance to pause and recognise the many women who contribute to the Australian custody industry - past, present and future.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme in Australia, “Balance the Scales”, highlights the importance of fairness, opportunity and equity across all areas of work and life. It’s a reminder that meaningful progress comes from addressing imbalance whether in representation, access to opportunities, recognition or leadership, and committing to actions that help create a more level playing field.
Across ACSA and the broader custody ecosystem, women play vital roles as leaders, specialists, problem‑solvers and mentors. They bring expertise, integrity and perspective to an industry that thrives on trust, collaboration and strong governance.
International Women’s Day is also about acknowledging progress while recognising there is still work to do. Building an inclusive industry means continuing to challenge outdated norms, creating pathways for diverse talent, and supporting environments where everyone feels respected, heard and able to succeed. Inclusion is not a one‑day conversation - it’s an ongoing commitment.
We also acknowledge and thank the male allies across our industry who actively support women, advocate for balance, and use their influence to help create more inclusive and equitable workplaces. Progress is strongest when everyone plays a part.
ACSA is proud to support initiatives that encourage diversity, equity and inclusion across our membership. As we mark International Women’s Day on 8 March, it’s an opportunity to celebrate achievements, share stories, and reflect on how we can each help balance the scales through our actions, decisions and everyday behaviours.
To all the women in custody and financial services - thank you for what you do, for the standards you set, and for the way you continue to move the industry forward. Happy International Women’s Day.
