TaxationTaxationThe Taxation Working Group is the voice on tax reform for the custodial industry. The Working Group works closely with regulators and industry bodies such as the Australian Taxation Office, Treasury, the Financial Services Council, Australian Superannuation Funds Association and Australian Financial Markets Association in developing and reviewing proposals for reforming taxation of the financial services industry. The Working Group formulates ACSA’s position on various tax reform proposals and acts as a discussion forum where members can raise tax issues of concern. For major reform projects such as the managed investment trust tax reforms and industry templates; sub-groups are formed to participate in drafting submissions and identifying issues. The group typically lodges several detailed written submissions with tax regulators annually, and is involved in regular consultation. The Taxation Working Group is responsible for:
