Happy Pride Month!
ACSA is proud to acknowledge this meaningful period of celebration, reflection and advocacy. Pride Month honours the unique experiences of our LGBTQ+ community and allies, and the communities that ACSA members serve. Pride month reflects what’s possible when we move forward as one - supporting one another not only in our work, but in our health, wellbeing and sense of belonging.
This year marks a special milestone: 15 years since Pride first expanded into a month-long festival. We also continue to reflect on the history that shapes us. It honours the courageous 78ers who led the first Sydney Mardi Gras in 1978, standing firm in the face of discrimination, and remembers the pivotal 1969 Stonewall Riots that ignited the global Pride movement. These moments remind us that our shared story is one of 2026silience, unity, and progress.
For those in Sydney, there are many events running through to the 30th of June. Expect bold drag shows, art exhibitions, street parties, thought-provoking forums, and fundraisers that shine a light on LGBTQIA+ causes.
In Melbourne, there are still many events to enjoy over the remainder of June.
