Custodian peak body preparing for March 7 kick-off

With less than a month until Australian markets move to a new, shorter settlement regime, the custody industrys peak body has released a guide for clients still grappling with the changes.

Prepared by the Australian Custodial Services Association (ACSA), the document explores the impact of the implementation of a Trade Date plus two business day’ settlement regime (T+2) on clients of Australian and New Zealand custodians.  It also answers some common questions that custodians have been fielding in regards to the implementation.

Mark Wootton, Chair of ACSA’s Custody Operations Working Group, said ACSA members have been preparing for this change over the past year, however, some clients especially those offshore still have questions about the details. We have developed this guide as response, and to help educate those who will be affected by a faster settlement time.
